The very
recent and as per usual, very well lubricated peasants' movements in
Eastern Europe
have lifed unprecedented love and blue fountains of liberty, democracy
and a
FREE and mysteriously prosperous economy.
The simply.binary
networks of Eastern Communism have zealously been replaced
with the
sophisticated and complex networks of OST>EUROPA Mafia. As successors
to the
simply.efficient
KOMUNIST>STATE, the OST>EUROPA Mafia is determined to lace our
echoing sky with
sweet lozenges of
multi-lateral accords and a stable pattern of ever glowing commerce
with our
majesties in the West.
The impetus
was such that the latest mathematical research in genetic, neural
and immune
networks has been utilized to determine the quintessential OST>EUROPA
EXPORT....
.... The

Proposed project: Badland Community Theatre

Badland Community Theatre, while not strictly my project, and while
currently
actualized, has essentially been a continual string of rejections from
day one.
Badland is the brain-child of the Badland Community Theatre Group, a
talented
and interesting group of filmmakers, has been experiencing rejection
almost
unilaterally since its inception.
To save
everyone the boring details, I'll just tell you about our most recent
rejection.
The Badland
group, desperate for rent money (these guys have nothing), spent
weeks writing a proposal for a prestigious performing arts grant. They
put
together a huge package expressing their desire to do a live rendering
of
Hieronymus Bosch's "The Garden of Earthly Delights", starring
the Badland
crew and a slew of volunteer extras (including several celebrities,
including
television's Andy Dick and Mira Sorvino as the girl in front with the
cherries
on her head).
After four weeks of waiting, this is the response they recieved (edited
for
brevity):
Dear Sirs:
There was a form letter for this, but we at the [censored] Group
[censored] Grant Commission thought that it was only appropriate to
do this
'in person', so to speak.
First off,
we are sorry to say that you did not recieve the grant money. We had
many excellent applications, and the descision was very difficult.
Secondly,
we at the [censored] Group [censored] Grant Commission felt that it
was our duty to _urge_ you to seek professional help. Your theatre group's
web
site, and your press package have led us to believe that your organization
may,
God-willing, be infected with some terrible disease. If this is not
the case,
then it is certain that you are all completely insane, and we would
appreciate
it if you would never contact us again.
